is a lightweight orthosis you can custom fabricate right in your office or in the O.R.. Hallux Valgus splint provides progressive correction of hallux valgus and delivers complete toe stability.

Simply heat the thermo-moldable hallux valgus splint blank in a hot water bath (order separately #7079) then mold the splint to fit the patient. Once cooled, the hallux valgus splint holds its shape and will not stretch. You can mold it to exact correction, either post-surgically or as a night splint, and remold it for progressive splinting.

Eliminate the bulky bandages and plaster associated with post-operative care. The AliMed Hallux Valgus HVO holds the toe position and still allows for post-op swelling -- just loosen the hook-and-loop strap (included). Washable. Instructions included.

When to use this AliMed Hallux Valgus Splint:

1. : Corrects 50% of inoperable hallux valgus deviations. Stabilizes deviation in 85% of users after two years of use. For patients 16 years of age and younger.
2. : For very mild hallux valgus deformities causing soreness at metatarsal head. Can relieve pain after just a few weeks of use.
3. : Maintains positioning. Users can walk with a postsurgical shoe as soon as pain subsides.
4. : Severe bursitis where surgery is not possible. Holds the large toe so tissues can heal. Also help correct a mild deviation that patient finds aesthetically unacceptable.
