The wedge design and flat-sitting surface encourage upright sitting and decrease the tendency to slide forward on the seat surface. For added protection, a sensor pad is embedded within the foam of the cushion to detect when weight is lifted off the seat surface, and to help prevent the problem of the sensor pad from slipping off the cushion.
