Sterilization Pouches External and internal indicators are pre-printed on the pouch paper (external on the front paper side of the pouch; internal inside the pouch, clearly visible through transparent film with distinct color changes). Internal indicators serve as a backup or security in case indicator strips are forgotten, helping reduce confusion created in the OR whenever pouched instruments are packaged without indicator strips. This also helps reduce the need to flash sterilize.
