This Research Compilation gives an overview of the Edmark Reading Program, developed in the 1960s. It became commercially available in 1972 and has proved effective with preschool students (ages 3 to 5 years of age), elementary students having difficulty with traditional classroom reading materials, "English as a Second Language" students, and most special education students. The Edmark Reading Program should be considered for use with any student who has not learned to read.
